The Beginning

Stories are a great way of revealing the identity of a person or group. On this page stories about the youth group will be shared through personal Testimonies, events, trips, devotions. So please share by emailing me (Pastor Marc) a testimony and then I will post it after proofing it.

Our Story, has a beginning as a youth group, and it does not have to have an ending if you will take what you have learned with you throughout the rest of your life. The OCBC church has been here in Orting for many years, and has seen much growth that has made us the largest church in town. We are in the middle of a building program that doubles our campus. I moved here in August of 2008, from the Phoenix valley area. The climate here is so much different than the 110 degree weather of the dessert valley floor. There is a measure of beauty every where you live, and this area of the country is just that.

Our youth group has such a great core of teens that it is so exciting to see what the Lord is going to do in all of their lives. We range from so many backgrounds of family life to schooling, to places lived or have been that it brings such a neat variety. With those differences the one thing that brings us together is our personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

So here our story begins with the Lord as our leader. Please pray for each other, as we are all in this world that has rejected the Savior that died and rose from the grave that we might have life everlasting. Never look down on others but only love them as Jesus loved you so much.

Teen Testimony

Hi,
I'm Emily Ulsh. I have attended Orting Community Baptist Church ever since I was born. Right now I would like to tell you my salvation testimony. When I was six years old I attended Vacation Bible School at OCBC. When Pastor Bob asked if anyone wanted to come forward to be saved, I raised my hand. I prayed with Mrs. Grosz and, as a six year old child, I believed I was saved. The year I turned 12, Pastor Gore was preaching on current events and reading from the book of Revelation. When he began talking about the rapture and how the unsaved people would be left behind to go through the tribulation and right then I began to wonder if I would go to heaven or be left behind. It bothered me so badly that I spoke to my Mom about it and asked her if I should be afraid of the rapture. She told me if I was scared, maybe when I was six I didn't fully understand what it meant to be saved. She went over verses in Romans and I bowed my head that night and accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior. From that night on, I have never doubted where I would be going when I die. God has taken care of many of the fears I had about the rapture and the tribulation.

Psalm 34:4 says:
"I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all of my fears."
And that is exactly what the Lord did for me that night.
